We are skills based assessments for technical screening
VibeLevel for Hiring evaluates what candidates can actually build — not resumes or keyword matches. Every assessment is hands-on and AI-graded.
What is VibeLevel for Hiring?
VibeLevel for Hiring is our skills-based technical screening product. Rather than banning AI, it measures how effectively candidates solve real problems — through hands-on coding assessments graded across multiple skill dimensions, with optional video interviews and identity verification.
Who it's for: hiring managers, recruiters, and talent teams — from a solo hiring manager (Individual mode) up to enterprises with multiple hiring managers and admin oversight (Enterprise mode).
Primary purpose: screen technical candidates fairly and at scale. You create an assessment, share it via an open link, email invites, or an auto-filtering application form, and review AI-graded submissions to shortlist the strongest candidates.
What are the two modes for Hiring?
VibeLevel Hiring has two modes: Individual and Enterprise. Individual mode is for solo hiring managers or small teams — create assessments, invite candidates, and review submissions on your own. Enterprise mode is for organizations with multiple hiring managers — create a shared Organization, collaborate on assessment templates, invite team members, and get admin oversight across all hiring activity. Both modes use the same assessment creation flow and scoring system.
How do I create an assessment?
Go to Hiring > Assessments > Create New. Follow the 4-step process: Choose a template, configure evaluation criteria and job details, test the assessment yourself, then publish and share with candidates.
What access modes are available?
Three options:
- Open Link: Anyone with the URL can take it — paste it into your job posting or ATS
- Invite Only: Email-invite specific candidates — each gets their own secure link
- Application Form: Candidates apply first, auto-filtered by your criteria, then approved applicants get the assessment
How does auto-filtering work?
Set criteria like minimum experience, education level, maximum salary, and required locations. When candidates apply, those who don't meet your criteria are automatically filtered out — only qualifying candidates receive the assessment.
How do I manage candidates after they complete the assessment?
View all submissions in Hiring > Submissions. Each candidate gets an AI-generated score across multiple dimensions. You can then Shortlist or Reject candidates directly from the candidate detail page.
Can I test the assessment before sending it to candidates?
Yes — Step 3 of the assessment creation flow lets you take the assessment yourself in Test Mode. Your test session is completely isolated and doesn't create any candidate records.
What do candidates do when they apply through an application form?
Candidates open your application link and sign in (with LinkedIn if you've required it). They answer your questions — things like location, years of experience, education, expected salary, notice period, and any custom screening questions — and upload a resume (PDF or DOCX). If they meet your criteria, they're automatically emailed the assessment link. Applicants who don't meet your criteria are filtered out.
How does VibeLevel tell the candidate's work from the AI's?
Candidates are expected to use AI, so scoring separates the human's contribution from the model's output. It does this from session telemetry — prompt depth, debugging activity, code edits, and command execution — not just the final code. Each session gets a Human Contribution label on a four-band scale, from least to most human-driven:
Passive Delegator → Balanced Builder → Active Contributor → AI Steerer
A Passive Delegator mostly accepts AI output as-is; an Active Contributor or AI Steerer actively directs, edits, and validates the work. When output is high but engagement is low — a sign the AI did the work — the score is capped accordingly.
For how skills, target role, seniority, and the seven scoring dimensions fit together, see Skills Assessment.
Can I share a candidate's report?
Yes. From a candidate's report you can generate a lightweight public share link (/share/report/...) that opens without a login — useful for looping in an interviewer or hiring manager who doesn't have a VibeLevel account. Anyone with the link sees the candidate's report: the overall score and level (Novice / Developing / Proficient / Expert), the per-dimension scores, the Human Contribution label, the skills the candidate demonstrated, the code & stack review, and a replay of the session (file edits, AI prompts, terminal commands) — plus the video interview if one was recorded.
